Wednesday 27th June

The last day was great fun, but also sad, we have all enjoyed working together so much and everyone has been highly productive,so there was a lovely busy atmosphere all day.

Neville made a wire book about cycling, his passion….Nyfed added to his fabulous bowl of fruit with an apple, and then made a rose as his last piece.

Dolly finished her serviettes and we know have wire napkin rings to add to them….

We all look forward to meeting up in October at the grand opening.!!!

It will begin with Neville and John’s enormous vine…….

wednesday 13th June

Nyfed made a stunning piece of cheese to tempt the mouse he made last week, and now we may have persuaded him to make a small larder of goodies….

Neville worked on his superb landscape, adding amongst other things a hoop of chickens, and a hatchet buried in a piece of wood……all in wire of course.

Kate’s latest piece is too riskay to blog about……

Two more days left to bring it all together!

Wednesday 6th June.

Day 7 of the project, and Neville made an astonishing piece of work, a wire landscape,it was very difficult to make, but he draws so well in space that it all glided together.

Dolly has finished her tablecloth, and it looks great,Nyfed made a lovely ladle for the table, and Kate has excelled herself yet again with three more marvellous flowers

Elwyn’s gold vine, could be attached to the steel vine John is making, and Gwynfor made a very interesting piece from his drawings done in the Botanical Gardens.

See you all next week.

Dolly started on the tablecloth, and painted a lovely flower border which she ironed on to the cloth.

Neville built  a structure for the vine to grow out of, and John made a lovely wall basket of wire flowers.

We are sad that it was Poppy and Alice’s last day, but they are coming to help set up the exhibition.

Poppy made a great wire picture frame, which looks lovely when framing our faces.!!

See you all next week……

Wednesday 23rd May – Day 5 of WIRED.

We had a very productive day at The National Botanic Gardens today,we measured up the gallery, and tentatively decided how we all wanted the work to be exhibited.John and Neville are going to construct a huge vine near the entrance to the gallery,Penny is going to display her piece in front of the window,Kate’s screen will hang from the ceiling, and Graham’s intricate wirework will be suspended on a white background to give strong shadows.

After a delicious ice cream we all did some drawing in the glasshouse so that ideas will be flowing with renewed energy this week.!

Day 4

We all decided that we had to enlarge the scale of the flowers in particular, if they are going to have any presence in the gallery, so it was so exciting seeing this happening.

There was a good discussion on ways of exhibiting. The screen was resurrected and Graham added to it with his masterful wirework.

Looking forward to next week and our visit to the Botanical Gardens.
